Bern Cohen (actor in THERAPY)

 

Bern Cohen has been a professional actor since graduating from Adelphi University with a major in Theatre Arts.  His earliest professional work was on stage and included plays with Mercedes Reuhl, Samuel L. Jackson, Marsha Rodd, Jon Davidson and many others who transitioned to film and TV acting.  Much later in life, Bern made the leap from stage acting to camera acting.  The past year and a half has seen him almost non-stop in production on over 15 films, ranging from indie shorts to studio mega-films and all formats in-between.  Bern’s extensive credits include a principal role with Freddy Prinze, Jr. and Gerry Ferrara (Entourage) in Brooklyn Rules.  As a protagonist toward Malcom DaNere, Bern plays a pivotal role in Adventures of Archie Rosenthal.  He also has supporting leads in IPO, Document, and GraveDancers.  Bern, however, is most excited about Ghost Tour, a family-friendly horror film in which he portrays the ghost of Boss Tweed in the land of the dead NYC leaders and captures live tourists because he wants to eat enough human flesh and blood to re-materialize and come back to take over NYC again.

 

Alex Emanuel (actor in THERAPY)

 

Alex Emanuel played the lead in Reality Lost (Intuit Films), 2Wks, 1Yr (Holt Prods, Los Angeles Film Fest 2002), Land of False Clocks (Computer Monkey Productions) and Monotony (Credit Card Films).  New York stage credits include the premieres of Count Down and Live Coverage, The Years, Three Days of Rain, the original radio noir play Broken Shadows, and a new rock musical Blood.  Regional credits include premieres of Possible Worlds, Eagle River, Disappeared, The Killing Game and The Dreamer Examines His Pillow.  TV credits include Law & Order: Criminal Intent (guest star), Hack (co-star), Sex and the City, Third Watch, Deadline, One Life to Live, As the World Turns, All My Children, and the HBO movie Everyday People.  Music Video credits include roles in videos for Laura Cantrell, Amber Rhodes and Elaine Lachica.  Alex has also done numerous short films, including Talking Richard Wilson Blues (Tribeca Film Fest ’02), and more recently, “Some Mournful Bird” (a short film remake of the classic On the Waterfront, in which Alex plays the role of thug older brother, Charlie), “White Lightning “ (in which he plays a gigolo ping pong champ), “The Rock of Jacob” (a future government hit man) and “Haunt” (a spurned rural drug smuggler). 

 

Karen Lynn Gorney (actress in THERAPY)

 

Karen Lynn Gorney is the romantic star of the classic American film, Saturday Night Fever, playing the "fantasy girlfriend" who said "no" to John Travolta, and won his heart.  Miss Gorney is also Tara Martin, one of the original family members (Tad's big sister, Joe Martin's daughter, Erica Kane's greatest enemy, Sam's Grandmother) on ABC's long running, award winning day-time series,  All My Children.  A classically trained actress and winner of the People's Choice and European Bravo Awards, Miss Gorney has received raves in New York City and throughout the United States, performing everything from Shakespeare to Neil Simon.  Currently Karen is starring in the wacky comedy by Fantasy Films, Creating Karma, which is currently in post production.  Karen can also be seen in her recently released film, Searching For Bobby DeNiro. 

 

Scott Mitchell Kelly (actor in THE INTERVIEW)

 

A New York City native, Scott Mitchell Kelly has played the lead in many short and feature films.  Most recently he played Verid in Taffy Was Born, an independent feature by Synchronicity Pictures, which premiered at the New York International Film and Video Festival.  He was also featured in Headgames, an independent feature by New Wave films.  On the stage he has appeared in productions by People’s Lives Company, Hypothetical Theatre Company, Medicine Show Theater Company, The Solo Arts Group and a host of others.  Scott has also appeared on television in “One Life to Live” and “As the World Turns,” as well as doing voice-overs for numerous commercials.  In addition, he recently wrote and directed a short film called “Doggy Did It,” starring Osa Wallander. 

 

Lisa McKellar (actress in THERAPY)

 

Lisa McKellar received an LL.M. from the New York University Law School with a degree in Labor and Employment Law and had been practicing for several years when she decided to resume her first love, acting.  She went on to appear in a number of Off-Off-Broadway plays in New York, including “A Special Gift,” “Boy’s Life,” and “Single in a Single Bed.”  Most recently, she was the lead in the short film, “What Were You Thinking.”

 

Natasha Pachano (actor in THERAPY)

 

Natasha Pachano was born and raised in Costa Rica, Central America, where she became a notable child actress.   As a young adult she moved to America, where she studied Film and Photography (Bachelor of Fine Arts) at Georgia State University and Electronic Arts (Masters in Fine Arts) at Alfred University.  Pachano works in video, film, digital imaging and photography.  She now lives and works in New York City, where she’s a freelance designer (DVD menus & film title sequences), an editor, a teacher, a visual artist, a filmmaker, an actor, a model and a single mother.

 

Gerald Schoenewolf (writer/director of THE INTERVIEW and THERAPY)

 

After a successful career as a psychoanalyst specializing in helping people in the arts overcome their psychological blocks, he resumed his own artistic pursuits by writing screenplays.  He has had one screenplay, Maid of the Mist, optioned by Captures Entertainment. He won the 2005 WriteMovies.com screenplay contest for his play, Freud in Love. His screenplay, Stopping by the Woods on a Rainy Evening, was selected as "Best Slasher Screenplay" at the 2008 Indie Gathering Film Festival. And his script, Normality, made the finals of the London Independent Film Festival in 2008.  To date he has written 20 screenplays (see SCREENPLAYS).  Earlier in his career he wrote and directed a number of plays off-off Broadway in New York, as well a sending one, “The Circus,” on tour to Copenhagen.  He also published a handful of short fiction in literary journals, including Esquire, North American Review, Prism International, Minetta Review and Transatlantic Review.  A noted psychoanalyst, he is the author of 14 books and about 25 articles and chapters.  Some notable books include Jennifer and Her Selves and The Couple Who Fell in Hate, 101 Common Therapeutic Blunders, and Psychotherapy with People in the Arts.

 

Osa Wallander  (actress, THE INTERVIEW)

After studying acting at the Folkuniversitet in Goteborg, Sweden, Osa Wallander came to New York to continue her training and to seek out more opportunities.  She has done numerous short and feature films, including an independent production of Tennessee Williams’ Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, in which she played Maggie (the lead), and an original feature called Shades of Paradise, in which she played Barbara (the lead).  She has also had many theater roles, including playing Harriet Bossee in “The Strinberg Diaries” and Inez in Sartre’s “No Exit.”

 

Bob Walz (actor in THERAPY)

 

Bob started acting at an older age than most.  At 49, he decided to try his hand at TV commercials.  After doing some commercial work, Bob auditioned for and got the role of Willy in a regional production of Death of a Salesman.  He went on to do twenty shows, with very pleasing audience reviews and feedback.  In film, Bob has been cast in a wide variety of roles – father, drug dealer, boss, detective and even the doorman in Eloise at the Plaza.  He has appeared on various TV shows, including Conan O’Brien twice.  Bob recently traveled to Iceland to play the lead character, Warren J. Willard, in Misty Mountain, a story of a Navy man stationed in that country for two years during the 1960’s who falls in love with a young Icelandic girl and is then sent to Vietnam.  Bob has been performing in both lead and supporting roles for twelve years now.
